Burn

Debuff 2-3 Turns

Damage over time effect that deals True Damage each turn. Ignores Armor and Will, making it effective against all unit types.

Mechanics

How It Works

  • Deals PSI/2 True Damage per turn (based on caster's PSI)
  • True Damage ignores both Armor and Will
  • Damage occurs at the start of the affected unit's turn
  • With PSI 2, deals 1 damage/turn; with PSI 4, deals 2 damage/turn

Duration & Stacking

  • Lasts 2 turns from application
  • Does not stack - reapplication refreshes duration
  • Multiple sources can apply separate Burn instances

Spread Mechanic

  • Some abilities have chance to spread Burn to adjacent units
  • Fire Explosion applies Burn to entire 3x3 AOE
  • Fire Elemental's attacks always apply Burn

Interactions

Strong Against

  • High Armor units: True damage ignores Guardian's 2 Armor
  • Trent: Despite 7 HP, Burn chips away consistently
  • Grouped enemies: Fire Explosion + Burn pressures entire formations

Counters

  • Purifying Light: Paladin removes Burn debuff
  • Short fights: Burn needs time to deal damage
  • Low PSI caster: Burn damage scales with caster's PSI
